Leap

I’d like to introduce you to my new favorite picture.  It makes me giddy every time I see it! It’s so Quinn and I love that I can just feel Quinn in it, even without seeing his face.

Leap!

It’s also my entry for this week’s I Heart Faces photo challenge, the theme of which is “Autumn Splendor”

Ah, life

I was sorting through the rest of my spider pictures and came across these.  It’s hard to believe that a few short weeks ago I had flowers in my yard!  I never cease to be amazed at how this cycle of life thing works – how the world can be so full and bursting with life then sleeping so hard only to burst forth once again.

Spider

Every time I post spider pictures on my blog I hear a lot of “ewwwww” from my readers. Once upon a time I agreed with you – I was one of the most arachnophobic people around!  But when Simon was three my world changed completely when Simon introduced me to his imaginary friend, Boosaw the spider.  Boosaw was Simon’s buddy and every time we saw a spider Sy would say “look! That’s Boosaw!”  The pivotal Boosaw moment for me was when we had guests over and a spider ran across the floor.  All the kids were screaming and one of the adults grabbed a shoe to do what many of us would do to a spider.  Simon lost it and began sobbing and screaming “that’s Boosaw!!  Don’t kill Boosas!”  Thanks to Boosaw I’ve learned to love and treasure spiders.  Having kids changes you like that.

But they’re still kind of creepy.  So Happy Halloween…and enjoy some spider pictures!
